Food Pantry

The Spahr Center’s food pantry supports Marin residents living with HIV and LGBTQ+ community members with access to groceries and fresh produce.

When you shop in our pantry, you’ll be guided by one of our non-judgmental staff members and will be able to choose the food and supplies you want and need.

  • The Spahr Center’s new food pantry hours serve to better reflect when the pantry is restocked and when staff is not in regularly scheduled meetings. Our Food Pantry Coordinator visits the SF-Marin Food Bank to restock at the beginning of the week. We also receive produce donations from Extra Food on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Eligible community members are welcome to come to our center at 1575 Francisco Blvd E., San Rafael, CA 94901, to shop the food pantry.

    The pantry is open:

    -Wednesdays: 11:00am-1:30pm

    -Thursdays: 11:00am-1:30pm

    -Fridays: 11:00am-1:30pm

We can prepare a bag of food to pick up after hours if individuals are unable to shop during the pantry’s open hours.

  • The Spahr Center provides home delivery for eligible HIV+ clients who are unable to access the food pantry at our center. We deliver food on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2-5pm. Each day serves a different part of Marin County, and your deliver day will depend on where you live. If you are interested in receiving a food delivery, please email Dominic Carrillo (he/him, el), Food Pantry Coordinator, at DCarrillo@TheSpahrCenter.org to be added to the schedule.

  • The pantry can always use donations! We accept the following:

    • Canned beans, vegetables, fruit, tomato sauce

    • Boxes of cereal, energy bars, oatmeal, pasta, instant ramen, coffee beans and tea

    • Dried fruit, beans, nuts

    • Brown paper bags

We can accept fresh or frozen food but please contact us first to be sure we have storage space for these items.

Reach out to Dominic Carrillo (he/him/el), Food Pantry Coordinator, at DCarrillo@thespahrcenter.org to make a donation.
